Recently, Head of Country for Rio Tinto in Guinea, I led the early in-country development of the Major Simandou Green Iron Ore Project, one of the largest and richest undeveloped iron fields in the world. With over 18 billion dollars of investment and a 650 km rail corridor and port, this project is an exciting opportunity to transform the Guinean economy and create long-term value for all stakeholders.
Prior to this I managed the in-country development of Grand Tortue Ahmeyim, a major offshore gas discovery straddling the maritime border of Senegal and Mauritania for the operator, bp. I worked with all key stakeholders, including industry partners, international institutions and the government of Senegal to anticipate the impact on the broader economy. The other major offshore gas project in my portfolio, Yakkar Teranga, still represents today a major opportunity to develop a domestic gas value chain in Senegal.
Since working in Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Azerbaijan and London for many years, in corporate and operational roles, I have developed and maintain a highly diverse & dynamic professional network, upon which I call frequently to test ideas and solve problems.
